Pouring Cups
Peneq supplies high-quality ceramic pouring cups manufactured from premium ceramic materials and formed using high-pressure isostatic pressing. These components are designed for use in investment casting applications across a wide range of alloys, including ferrous metals, nickel-based alloys, aluminum alloys, bronze, and selected aerospace superalloys.
Pouring cups are integrated directly into the wax assembly prior to shell building and become an integral part of the final ceramic mold.

Design & Application
Pouring cups are placed directly onto the wax gating system before ceramic shell coating, becoming an integral part of the mold structure. Pressed grooves on the cup surface provide a mechanical key, improving adhesion and cohesion between the cup and the shell. The number and depth of these grooves are adjusted according to cup size and geometry to ensure optimal performance.
Mullite & Fused Silica Pouring Cups
Peneq supplies Schaefer pouring cups available in both mullite and fused silica compositions, designed for reliable performance in investment casting applications.
Mullite cups are recommended for most general casting requirements due to their balanced thermal stability and mechanical strength. Fused silica cups are preferred for larger geometries, where differences in thermal expansion between the cup and mold must be minimized to prevent cracking or separation.
A specialized formulation is also available for cup extensions, engineered to meet the stringent requirements of single crystal (SC) and directional solidification (DS) casting processes.
